Thrillist - Where to Eat and Drink Outdoors in NYC

New York City is still basking in summer’s golden hour — those all too brief weeks when the warm weather is still a welcome novelty before we all start whining about the unending heat. It may seem like we’ve got infinite beach days, pool nights, and nearby island getaways ahead of us, but the season’s days are numbered and you’d better act fast to make the most of it.

Fortunately, NYC is full of restaurants and bars where you can bask in the sun at sidewalk cafes and catch a rooftop breeze over a twilight dinner. These are the best spots to eat and drink outside right now.

Midtown East

2018 will go down in history books as the year NYC finally got a rooftop bar worth going to Midtown for. This 1920s-era art deco panoramic balcony on the 26th floor of the Beekman Tower got a chic upgrade last year, allowing you to sip craft cocktails (like the summery Resurrection, made with vodka, Campari, lime, passion fruit, and hibiscus) and eat avocado toast on a historic and legitimately cool rooftop terrace.
